Sky Phillips wanders in and begins browsing after a pleasant nod to the man behind the counter.
Eventually he ascends the stairs and keeps browsing. Seeing people seated in the centre he passes them and offers "Greetings Earthlings." and then drifts to a nearby shelf and picks off a book "Taxidermy...perhaps not."
Lokii Sjong: hi
Elektra.Matsouka grunts a barely audible "hi."
Ase Sjong: Hello I don't think we met.
Sky Phillips wanders towards the group with another book in his hands about canoe building "Well not in this lifetime I suppose...but you never know. I'm Sky." He takes in the apparent ages of the group "Are you all students?" He's in his late 30s but with a youthful face.
Lokii Sjong: yeah we kinda are but your welcome to hang with us.
Elektra.Matsouka looks at the dude behind her blushes a little "sorry i thought you was my dad."
Ase Sjong: Oh your dads coming? and grab a seat sky that pack looks heavy.
Sky Phillips smiles at the one who welcomed and then looks critically at the being thinking he was her father "Hmmm.....I have no offspring that I know of." He adjusts the pack and smiles to the concerned "If you don't attach to things, they do not burden. But I may put this down for awhile."

Elektra.Matsouka: Elektra the Bat
Ase Sjong: Åse glad to meet you
Sky Phillips points between Ase and Lokii "Scandinavia somewhere?" He looks at Elektra "Are you nocturnal?"
Leonidas.Matsouka: Hi guys.
Gabrielle Rousseau walks up the stairs of the bookstore. It's been a long time since she's been in town. She looks at the gathered and sees no one ... then sees Sky and smiles softly.
Lokii Sjong: wow almost a community meeting today
Elektra.Matsouka : Uh dad meet my cool class mates Lokii and Ase and Mr Sky and um ah....er?
Ase Sjong: Looks at Elektra I don't think she said her name but welcome everyone she says ever trying to be the diplomat.
Sky Phillips nods to the father of Elektra "the bat" and then looks curiously at the others before giving Gabrielle a big smile and a long sigh "Gaby, it's been too long since your energy has graced a room I inhabit. Apparently we're in a meeting now." He seems amused by this" Do you operate by consensus, voting, interpretive dance?"
Leonidas.Matsouka: ah I see my daughter has graced you with her nick name laughs , Matsouka is Cypriot for bat so she is my baby bat. my family is from Cyprus .
Gabrielle Rousseau blinks and looks around. "Oh .... I'm sorry." she stammers. "Gabrielle Rousseau. Coming in for all the renovation work." she suddenly feels a little like she's in one of her ... other meetings ... she beams at Sky and laughs. "Oh, well ... is it AA, OA, NA, . booklovers anonymous?" she looks a little lost, but moves to sit nearer Sky. "It has been a while...." she decides against probing further in a meeting. The man speaks of bats and she ... blinks.
Elektra.Matsouka: Oh sorry we are a book club welcome we don't have a book this week cause we just finished Wee Free men by Terry Prachett.
Ase Sjong: yeah that was a great book but maybe this time we need something more intense a crime book mayhaps?And welcome Gabrielle.
Sky Phillips ponders all this "A book club." He looks warily at Gabrielle "Hmm...does this shop allow patrons to sell used copies back so things don't...accumulate? Cyprus and Scandinavia....interesting folks from all over here."
Leonidas.Matsouka thinks Yes Ruben Downstairs buys old books , what he can't resale he donates to a Israeli children's charity'
Gabrielle Rousseau's eyes grow wide and she looks at Sky incredulously and then face palms. "I ... have sold books to bookstores ... before ...." she clears her throat.
Lokii Sjong: do you write then as well? i love books written by women
Elektra.Matsouka : I wanna read more from Jonesbø i loved Blood in the snow Harry Hole is a great dick.
Ase Sjong: Oh my gawd Bat you so didn't go there with the harry Hole joke. sorry peeps bat's a bit well batty harry hole you say it Hole is a cop in Norway that solves closed cases.
Sky Phillips winks at Gabrielle "Good, the meditations worked." He nods at Leonidas and then looks delighted by Elektra "I think if someone is going to be called a dick, better to be called a great one. Same with being called an asshole. Don't just be a bit of one, really personify." He chuckles at his own thoughts.
Leonidas.Matsouka looks at his daughter "If i didn't know you meant detective , baby bat can go from Hanna Montana to Miley Cyrus in 50 seconds flat . hey kids why don't you go grab some coffee and let us adults chat?" He hands Elektra a 20.
Gabrielle Rousseau blinks rapidly. She places a hand on her duffel bag and inhales very slowly, exhaling the same way. "Mostly .... yes ... it did ...." she leas back on the couch a bit, her hand on her bag, s if it's a faithful pup.
Doctor Rose Song: Sorry I'm Late Had some paperwork to clear up
Sky Phillips looks at the new woman arriving and says his standard "Greetings Earthling." He darts a glance at the bag Gaby seems so overprotective of and then looks back to Leonidas "Delightful child your bat girl." he jokes.
Leonidas.Matsouka : She's a handful some days but i'm glad she has all her friends in town to look after her. looks over at sky and gab I take it you know each other?
Gabrielle Rousseau nods at the new lady and back at the man and just smiles, stiffly.
Doctor Song: I'm Rose Song I guess You could say i'm Lokii and Ase's new step mom.
Sky Phillips gives Gaby a shy little smile "Yes we know each other. In many lives I sense." He extends the smile back at Leonidas and then to Rose "Rose Song. I like your name. Were you born with it, or did you choose it?"
Leonidas.Matsouka : Glaces at Rose , he knew Lokii and Åse from Bat's friend crew but never met Rose. he smiles then looks at Sky and Gabby sky you remind me of a shaman i met years ago in Greece do you study healing arts+ and gabby are you ok? you seem a tad nervous.
Gabrielle Rousseau blinks. "Who are Loki and Ase?" she lookss around the room, as if for people who have joined them. Two are missing, none have joined. "Those kids that just left?" she grins a little self-consciously. "I just caught the one named Bat." she looks at Sky and sighs in apparent relief or relaxation. "It IS a lovely name." but she waits for a reply before going on. She nearly jumps at the notice she is nervous and looks for a moment like the worlds worst shoplifter. "I'm great." she squeaks, although it also looks like she is about to confess to the assassinations of Christ, Kennedy and King.
Rose Song: The two kids that i bumped into down stairs i suppose they left before i came up those are my two and if they were up to no good tell me , Yes my name was chosen i changed it when i was a teen cause everyone teased me too much they would say Sjong the dong and slong and add to that my first name was Gerd.
Sky Phillips replies thoughtfully to Leonidas "I am not a practitioner, but a strong believer in the healing arts, reincarnation, past lives, the astral plain, lucid dreaming and the subtle energies we cannot name or see." He shifts his gaze to Gaby with kindness as if he knows of what she's struggling with and just says "Whatever it is Gaby, love and light. Be at peace with it." He smiles at Rose "Gerd. I think that's interesting but I do like Rose. I was once called Duncan." He admits.
Leonidas.Matsouka : that's interesting I would love to study more but work and raising bats are taking alot of my time these days. but i wouldn't trade it for anything, i hear my families stories of Cyprus and Greece and all the financial issues there i am glad my father came here .
Gabrielle Rousseau nods, still anxious. "We .... I mean Sky and I ... have a friend ... Sky's more than mine ... named Phoenix Fire Moon. His grandfather choose the Moon name in the 1960's and so his name is given and ..." she looks at Sky, pulling her bag into her lap. "I am ... I am, really." she grips the bag, still .. like a pet. "Completely at peace." and then she bursts out as the directed light of her perceived judgement comes pouring out. "I replaced them! ALL of them! From Aseop to Zieg Heil .... ELECTRONICALLY!" she now clutches the bag to her chest like she is afraid someone will hear her confession and snatch the bag away.
Rose Song chuckles we wont tell Ruben down stairs is shall we say very kind hearted and he would rather people read electronically than never read at all. so no worries heck he even lets the kids borrow books sometimes. looks at gab and smiles relax this is a free society here we all have each other's backs.
Sky Phillips nods at Leonidas "Yes complicated economics over there." He smiles at the mention of their friend Phoenix and then sighs at Gaby "Well baby steps...at least you will have more freedom of movement with that..." He gestures at the bag and then clarifies to Rose. He's never been one to not put it all on the table with issues "Gaby has been dealing with an addiction to collecting books. Attachment is complicated, and yes we can walk with her."
Leonidas.Matsouka : No crime in collecting books , chuckles if there was i think some of us would be sharing a cell . I am also guilty of collecting books.
Gabrielle Rousseau sighs in relief and closes her eyes. A moment later, she unzips the bag and takes out a slim external hard drive colored brown. "Yes ... Sky helped me when I had to ... " she swallows. "Get rid of .. a few ... he and Phoenix Fire ... there were so many ... I was ... they were stacked .. everywhere ...." she looks at the man. "But there IS." she argues. "There were paths in my apartment .. floor to ceiling books. The police and fire department got involved. Then a therapist .. and a lawyer ... and Sky and Phoenix fire." she sniffs. "I didn't even realize .. if they had caught fire ... "
Rose Song looks wide eyed , wow I am also guilty , but in the form of audio books be amazed how many you can fit on a hard drive.
Sky Phillips just smiles "I travel light and try not to live in judgment. There are always books everywhere and libraries....but I sympathize with the need to take comfort in surroundings."
Leonidas.Matsouka nods.
Gabrielle Rousseau slips the brown drive back into her bag and comes out with a purple one. "Music." and a black one "Audio books" and a blue one "Movies ..." she sighs. "For good or ill ... It was like I had lost everything. Phoenix got me my first external ... and told me this way I could have them all and not endanger anyone else." she beans, almost childlike. "But now I don't have to go to the library. I can put my books on my phone or tablet or whatever. And I am no longer a hoarder." she looks quite proud, happily ignoring the fact that she IS still a hoarder ... and very possibly worse than she HAD been.
Rose Song: So i take it you also have a computer? or you can use the ones at the school library for free.
Sky Phillips's eyes go a little wider at the reveal of each drive Gaby pulls out and then he clears his throat and just chuckles. Baby steps. He tries to offer some positive feedback "That sounds very well ordered." He glances at Rose and Leonidas "I don't own a computer but I do love libraries. I'm going to be boarding with a woman in town who might have a computer I could use from time to time. I just answered her advertisement."
Leonidas.Matsouka : Bat has one i think if she hasn't traded it up for something.
Gabrielle Rousseau nods, eagerly. "Two laptops, a tablet and smart phone." she continues to look quite proud of herself. She looks at the man. "Oh, I could buy he old laptop off of you!" she offers.
Rose Song: doc stifles a yawn as she hasn't been sleeping well.
Sky Phillips shakes his head gently at Gaby and then Leonidas "Think, breathe......do you need it?" His tone is very gentle but he's trying to discourage her. He notices Rose's yawn in his peripheral vision.
Leonidas.Matsouka @hypergrid.org:8002: Nah I think bat needs hers she spends a lot of time talking to her cousins in Greek. it's like a cool code with them. Rose you OK? he now notices the dark circles under her eyes.
Gabrielle Rousseau settles her drives back in the bag. "Well .... NEED is a strong word." she scoffs. "But anyway .... I should probably be going. Sky .... come over soon. Right now I am at the Mariners on Alexandra Island. Not far, really."
Rose Song: well I do need to go catch up with the kids and then take a well deserved cat nap. I have to plan a trip.
Sky Phillips looks relieved at Leonidas's words. He stands up and holds out his arms offering Gaby a hug goodbye "I will visit soon. I'm going to go meet with my landlady, Judith Baldwin, and sort that out. Rose Song, rest well and Leonidas, to the bat cave?" He jokes.
Gabrielle Rousseau stands and waves to Rose and the man.
Leonidas.Matsouka: I shall be going or I may find Bat has sold the house again
